Free Hugs

Everyone needs a hug. We all need to be touched. Hugging is a physical act that meets an emotional need. It’s common knowledge that babies do better when they are touched and held regularly as opposed to being left alone.

There are people who will volunteer just to hold and touch infants in some hospitals because it makes a difference in their recovery. The need for touch (hugs) doesn’t go away with age, it just gets pushed aside. It’s not cool, it’s not professional, it’s just not important.

But look around, the people who you see that aren’t the nicest people, probably need hugs the most and never get them. Just as an orphaned infant’s growth is retarded from lack of touch, and in extreme conditions they may even die, so too does an adult feel the neglect of tough, or hugs. They just die emotionally.

This video is a good reminder, give someone a hug today.
